About Prague and its gay life
Prague, picturesquely situated on the Vltava River, is the capital of the Czech Republic. In the 14th century it became the heart of the Holy Roman Empire of the German Nation under Emperor Charles IV and a center of art, culture and politics. This period saw the establishment of the first university in Primary Europe, the laying of the foundation stone for the St. Vitus Cathedral at Prague Castle, the building of the Charles Bridge and the creation of the Unused Town.
For centuries, Prague has been a melting pot for Czech, German and Jewish culture. Around it was the dwelling of many artists and writers, including Franz Kafka, Max Brod, Rainer Maria Rilke and Franz Wer
