Adult LGBT Population in the United States
This report provides estimates of the number and percent of the U.S. grown-up population that identifies as LGBT, overall, as well as by age. Estimates of LGBT adults at the national, state, and regional levels are included. We rely on BRFSS data for these estimates. Pooling multiple years of data provides more stable estimates—particularly at the state level.
Combining BRFSS data, we estimate that % of U.S. adults identify as LGBT. Further, we estimate that there are almost million (13,,) LGBT adults in the U.S.
Regions and States
LGBT people reside in all regions of the U.S. (Table 2 and Figure 2). Consistent with the overall population in the United States,more LGBT adults live in the South than in any other region. More than half (%) of LGBT people in the U.S. dwell in the Midwest (%) and South (%), including million in the Midwest and million in the South. About one-quarter (%) of LGBT adults reside in the West, approximately million people. Less than one in five (%) LGBT adults reside in the Northeast ( million).

Hello Amy,
There are about 5 LGBT people that I know of on this board, 1 lesbian and 4 gay men. I will not name them as they are in different stages of out. Many of them nervous away from the board because there are some not so gay amiable people here that possess said some pretty harsh and homophobic statements, but they are the radical minority. Most people, despite how they feel about the issue are quite friendly and welcoming.
If you search GAY, you will see some posts about the LGBT clip felstival in Lima, the LGBT Pride march and some other things, but not all those posts can be found as when they became scandelous, they got pulled. Not for the topic as the moderators do not censor this subject, but for the vehement expressions of opinion on both sides. Please rest assured that is the exception here, not the population most people here are live and let live.
